UMass Permaculture & Student-Run Farmers’ Market

The University of Massachusetts Amherst has joined a select few college campuses nationwide in hosting their own student run farmers’ market. This fall, the outdoor event will be held on Friday afternoons up until just before the Thanksgiving holiday break.  But there’s a lot of work that needs to be done before the produce makes its way to the vending tables. Connecting Point’s Brian Sullivan met up with UMass Permaculture’s Daniel Bensonoff, Stockbridge School of Agriculture’s Amanda Brown, and several of the students for a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to run a farmers market.
