Springfield High School Graduation Rates on the Rise

Springfield high school graduation rates have increased in the past five years, rising from 56.6% of students graduating on-time in 2012, to 68.8% of students graduating last year. While the graduation rate still lags the state average, the district is optimistic it can make up that ground. Carrie Saldo sat down with Daniel Warwick, the Superintendent of Springfield Public Schools, and Dr. Yolanda Johnson, the Director of Student Services, to find out how the district’s focus on individual student tracking, encouraging parent engagement, and other methods have helped boost the number of students graduating from Springfield high schools.
