Training Civilians to Administer Life-Saving Narcan

Narcan is credited with saving countless lives by reversing the effects of an opioid overdose. First responders—like police officers, firefighters, and paramedics—are increasingly carrying the lifesaving drug, and there is a push to make Narcan available to civilians as well. Tapestry Health and the Gandara Center are joining up to offer Narcan trainings for non-first responders, with classes offered in both English and Spanish. Carolee McGrath sat down with Tapestry Health’s Liz Whynott and The Gandara Center’s Lisa Brecher to learn more about the program.
