LGBTQ Youth Suicide Rates & Noho Pride

In April, The Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ Youth released a report with some stark numbers: LGBTQ students are 3.2 times more likely than other students to have hurt themselves on purpose or to have considered suicide. About 16 percent of LGBTQ students—as opposed to 4 percent of their heterosexual, cisgender peershave attempted suicide in the past year. What could be behind high LGBTQ youth suicide rates?
