The State We’re In: History of Political Assassinations

Fifty-six years ago, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated while riding in a motorcade through Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas. While Kennedy’s assassination shocked the public, assassinations are nothing new in American history. Other notable political assassinations in the US include four presidents, Senator Robert Kennedy, and civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King.  

On the anniversary of President Kennedy’s assassination, Ray Hershel sits down with Western New England University History Professor John Baick and political consultant Anthony Cignoli to talk about how those assassinations have changed the course of U.S. history.
