The Grand Bargain bill raises the minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2023 and establishes paid family and medical leave through the newly established Family and Employment Security Trust. Many of the bill’s components required compromising on major issues affecting businesses and workers in Massachusetts. Nancy Creed, President of the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce, representing the western Mass business community on the team that negotiated the compromise. Carolee McGrath sat down with Creed to learn more about the Grand Bargain.
