The United States is facing a home health aide shortage as demand grows for workers who provide care for the elderly, allowing them to stay in their homes. Home health workers perform essential tasks; from bathing and dressing to giving medication, to providing support for people with memory loss. Industry workers say low wages make it difficult to recruit and retain workers.
