Delfo Barabani Jr. learned first-hand from his father about the importance of honoring those who served. Growing up, he recalled that His father, a veteran of World War II, would occasionally pick up a hitchhiker he believed was serving at Westover Air Base. Barabani Jr., a veteran of the Vietnam War, has continued that tradition. In Chicopee, Barabani Jr. Is actively involved with educating school children and the public about those who have served. He joined Carrie Saldo to discuss his work to establish a War on Terror Monument, honoring six local servicemen killed between 1983 and now, in the city.
