Emergency Restraining Orders for Domestic Violence Victims

Victims of domestic violence are often isolated and live with the risk of abuse daily. Social distancing and home isolation, actions critical to stopping the spread of the coronavirus, have made an already tenuous situation worse. While courts in Massachusetts are closed to the public through April 6, emergency restraining order and harassment cases are still being heard. Mary Kociela, Northwest District Attorney’s Domestic Violence Projects Coordinator, shared the details with Carrie Saldo.
