The Blasey Ford Hearing Causes Increase in Sexism

It’s been about eight months since Judge Brett Kavanaugh was questioned by Congress about not only his professional credentials for the Supreme Court, but an allegation of sexual assault.  Last month, the Perryundem Research Firm released the results of a poll asking a politically and ethnically diverse group of 1,300 men and women about the immediate, short, and long-term impacts of those hearings. One of the key findings of the poll shows the Blasey Ford hearing caused “increased hostile sexism” among voters. For context and reaction to the report, Carrie Saldo spoke with Mount Holyoke College Professor Kenneth Tucker, Jr., and Smith College Professor Carrie Baker.
