50 Miles More, an offshoot of the national March for Our Lives movement, began in Wisconsin. Students and protestors marched from the capitol in Madison to Janesville, home of US House Speaker Paul Ryan, to hold Ryan accountable for his ties to the gun lobby.
Now, 50 Miles More plans to hold 50 more marches in all 50 US states, with students around the country organizing events to raise awareness about gun violence and to put pressure on elected officials to do something about it. Dozens of students from Massachusetts schools participated in a four day march from Worcester to Springfield last month. Connecting Point reporter Brian Sullivan was on scene in Springfield to bring us this story.
