Springfield City Council Visits Denver for a Look at Legalized Pot

Springfield’s moratorium on recreational marijuana sales will be up in September. As the clock ticks down, the Springfield City Council is working to establish the rules and regulations of recreational marijuana use and sales in the city.

Instead of starting from scratch, Councilor Justin Hurst proposed traveling to Denver, where pot has been legal for several years. On the trip, he and three other Springfield city councilors asked questions about crime, substance abuse and tax revenue. Carrie Saldo spoke with them about what they learned.
