Taxes from Recreational Pot to Benefit Brockton Public Schools

Starting July 1, 2018, it will be legal to buy recreational marijuana in Massachusetts. But, with more than half of Massachusetts cities and towns—including South Hadley—enacting moratoriums or bans on pot shops, where will customers be able to purchase recreational products? 

The town of Brockton, in eastern Massachusetts, is embracing recreational marijuana sales—and the tax revenue it will generate. Connecting Point‘s Stephanie Leydon talks to Mayor Bill Carpenter, who hopes to invest the tax revenue increase into improving Brockton public schools.
