Life with Monte: Bird Counting

Each year tens of thousands of volunteers throughout the Americas brave snow, wind, or rain to take part in a national effort known as the Christmas Bird Count. Running from December 14 – January 5 the count provides valuable data to the Audubon Society, conservationists, and wild life agencies about the migration of birds. In tonight’s Life with Monte, Connecting Point Contributor Monte Belmonte heads out with bird counter and local children’s book author Heidi E.Y. Stemple to look for owls and to learn why this particular count can only happen in the dark.
